Concert poster collector and NIrvana specialist, Scott Mussell is seeking this Flyer or handbill advertising the bands performance at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. "This show was less than a month after Nevermind was released. The album was only at the beginning of it's meteoric rise that would peak in Jan of 1992, knocking the 'king of pop', Michael Jackson, from the top of the charts" Mussell states. The show previewed the hysteria to come selling out in just a few days besting a longtime sales record at the time. Additionally this night marks the delivery of the bands first tour bus a luxury that was previously unaffordable.
In addition to the 1991 show Mussell is also seeking the flyer and handbill from the bands appearance at Lawrence, KS rock club "The Outhouse" in 1989 opening for "24/7 Spyz" while promoting their first album "Bleach."
Mussell is offering a cash reward for an example of these flyer/handbill for his collection. "I don't know the size of this piece, my guess is it's an 8.5x11" flyer" Mussell said adding "I'm especially interested in a provenanced example." If you have an original example of any pre-1992original poster, flyer or handbill printed before the show to advertise ticket sales for a Nirvana concert contact Mussell at 515.707.7250 or by emails at srmussell@me.com
